Baan Talay Resort is located in the amazing Aow Leuk bay on the Southeast side of Koh Tao Island, home to some of the best snorkeling and coral reefs you can find around these shores. A short 5 minutes walk though our tropical forest and you will find yourself at our beachfront area with the beauty of the tropical seas a step away.

The rooms at Baan Talay are spacious Thai-style bungalows. All the rooms have been designed to fit in with the beautiful nature of the island. The rooms are super clean, simple and comfortable. Every room has Hot water showers, fan or A/C, as well as a hammock or relaxing area for you to make the most of the moment to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature.

Just above the coastline is our luxury camping area, a place for you and your travel companions to experience the island the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Here you are free to enjoy nature and relax by the sea in privacy, yet sleep in the comfort of our luxury tents

The tents are equipped with electricity, lighting, a cooling fan, and comfortable beds, allowing you to enjoy being close to nature without giving up the little comforts of life.

Our camping area is equipped with western style toilets and a luxurious open air bathroom, allowing for comfort without disconnecting you from the beauty of the surrounding nature.

You will find nature all around you at our resort. Even the bathroom has a view looking out to the tropical forest. Don’t worry, you can see out but other cannot see you, all our rooms offer privacy, nature and comfort.

The rooms are made mostly from Tropical hardwood and have a grass leaf roof that helps to keep the rooms cool all day. At the moment we have 4 of this type of room are the most budget style rooms we have at our resort.

The main living area consists of one queen size bed, the mattress is hand made and of high quality, you will have amazingly peaceful sleep in your Hut. Every room has a mosquito net to cover the beds so forest insects do not disturb you. There are 220v plug sockets so you can charge your phone or laptop.

All of our rooms have great balconies with sea views. In line with our eco friendly philosophy we haven’t cut down any trees at our resort, so along with your Seaview you can also see the magnificent tropical forest while relaxing the days away in your hammock.

The stunning outdoor bathroom is a highlight at our Sea View Huts. Taking a shower under the stars is an amazing experience that for some reason makes you feel so free. All our rooms have hot water showers. The toilet area is clean and all fits in with the surrounding nature.

A short walk down the hill from the reception area the Seaview Cottage rooms are located a little nearer the sea. If you would like a’ room with a view’ then look no further. You can spend all your days relaxing on your private balcony looking out over the amazing Aow Leuk bay.

The cottage rooms are bigger and also have the option of Air Conditioning or Fan. All rooms come with mosquito net, hot water, and an outdoor balcony area.

The view will really take your breath away. An undisturbed picture of nature awaits you on your balcony, where you can enjoy the day and night looking out over the ocean.

GETTING THERE

Transport:

There are a number of International airports in Thailand, Bangkok being the largest with the most abundant of direct flights into the country. Koh Tao is not far from Koh Samui where there is an international airport. This option might save you in travel time depending where you are traveling from. You will be required to take a boat from a mainland point or a neighboring island. Here is a link to a variety of options and boat companies that will get to Koh Tao. Once you arrive on the island your transfers to the resort will be complimentary.

Visa:

You will have to check your specific guidelines for the passport that you hold.  There are many countries that do not require previous visa arrangements. For these countries, if you plan to stay in Thailand for less than 30 days, you can obtain a visa upon arrival. If you plan to stay more than 30 days you can acquire a 60 day travel visa from your local Thai consulate.
